A different world

When I was in high school pencils were sharpened with pockets knives or small sheath knives.  Nobody was threatened, no knife fights broke out,  kids were not stabbed over boy or girl friends and robberies with knife wielding students were not heard of.  As I was doing paperwork in the office it struck me the simple act of sharpening a pencil using a knife cannot happen legally in schools today.   Children can be expelled, loose college funding, and gain a lifetime arrest record.  Wow, times have changed.
